Sign-up for the 2017 Season

CSA Sign-up has begun.

Vegetable & Eggs Sign-up Information

Hearty Roots Community Farm is owned and operated by Ben Shute & Lindsey Lusher-Shute. They provide our members with vegetables (mandatory purchase), and optional shares of eggs.

A half share indicates you will pick up your share every other week during the CSA season for a total of 11 weeks.

Hearty Roots Community Farm accepts most major credit cards. You can choose between a one-time payment or a three installment automatic payment plan.

Shares are picked up at the Greenwood Heights CSA weekly distribution located at Slope Park, Brooklyn from 9-11 am on Saturdays from June 10 to October 4.

Dairy & Meat Sign-up Information

General Cochran Dairy Farm is owned and operated by Holly & George Hammond. Their happy animals graze and root around in Amena, NY. They bring our CSA members delicious pastured pork, beef and veal shares.

John Kimberly and his family have owned and operated the 300 acre Kimberly Farm & Dairy in New Milford, Connecticut for sixty years. John grows the grasses and grains on which his pastured herd of 60 Ayershire cows feed.  He is pleased to offer our members a range of pasturized, non-homogonized diary products this year, including: creamline milk, chocolate milk, yogurts, and yogurt drinks.

These shares are offered as half 11 week shares, and some meat shares are offered as a quarter 6 week share. For half and quarter shares, you will be able to choose either A or B week pick-ups (See the A/B Week pick-up schedule above, in the Hearty Roots Section).

General Cochran Dairy Farm accepts PayPal payments. Credit card payment through PayPal is possible. All payments go directly to General Cochran Dairy Farm.

If you have any issues with sign-up or with your share, please email General Cochran Dairy directly at

Shares are picked up at the Greenwood Heights CSA weekly distribution located at Slope Park, Brooklyn from 9-11 am on Saturdays from June 6 to October 31.

What do I do after I sign-up?

Please check your emailed receipts to ensure you signed up for everything you wanted, and that your pick-up schedule (A/B Week) is as you wish it to be.

It also will help you immensely to make sure you are receiving our emails as we will be sending you notices about our annual member meeting, as well as emails letting you know what to expect in your share every week. So, check your spam box, just in case.

Later this spring we will be offering our members a maple syrup and coffee share!

We will email you the password to the member portal where you can sign up for your work shift: Every membership must have at least one person work one shift this year.

Thanks to everyone supporting this CSA!
