Welcome to the 2014 Greenwood Heights CSA season! If you were a member of last year’s CSA, sign-up will soon begin. You should have received an email from the CSA listing all the specifics. If you are a Potential Member, your sign-up period will begin in a few weeks. You, too, should have received an email from us, containing all the specifics
Greenwood Heights CSA is Expanding!
We are pleased to announce that our farmers, Ben & Lindsey Shute, are going to be able to supply our CSA with even more shares than last year: 150. Our CSA is growing, and so is the Shute family! Ben and Lindsey will soon be welcoming their second child soon. Congratulations to them!
How the CSA Sign-up works
We will be sending you an email when the sign-up commences. This email will contain a link that directs you to our sign-up page. Once there, you will be able to sign up for your half or full vegetable share (which is compulsory), and optional egg and fruit shares. Shares are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Please note: There are limited fruit and vegetable shares, so if you want one, SIGN UP AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
The payment method for a CSA share is PayPal, just like last year.
Members from last year get the opportunity to sign-up for their share first, then the sign-up is opened to all the potential members on our waiting list.
The purchase of a half or full vegetable share is mandatory for our CSA. Fruit and egg shares (should they be available) are optional. Other CSA items such as bread and annual Salmon shares will be available for our members this season, but sign-up for these items will occur later this spring.
How long will CSA shares be available?
The short answer is: Shares are available until they run out. Our farmer is capable of delivering 150 veggie shares per week. Once these shares are bought, there simply are no more. Last year when we opened up membership to potential members, we were sold out in three days. We have about ten times as many potential members as we have shares available. Without being alarmist, I do encourage you to sign up quite soon after you receive the sign-up email.
What is the accepted payment for the CSA?
the ONLY payment accepted by the Greenwood Heights CSA is Pay Pal. We suggest that potential members set up their PayPal account in advance to shares becoming available, to increase their chances of securing a share. You can open a PayPal account HERE.
What happens after I sign up for my CSA share?
You will receive an emailed confirmation of your payment. Then over the course of the months of waiting till the CSA season starts in June, you will receive emails from the CSA core committee, giving you information such as: the date of our annual members meeting (mandatory for new members to attend), any additional sign-ups for shares (bread & salmon), how to register for a work shift (which is mandatory), the dates of the season, information specifically about your pick-up schedule, and other important information like that.
Thanks to everyone supporting this CSA
We could not do it without you. We look forward to an excellent and delicious year with you all!
